If you hadn't heard by now, the New Orleans Saints are your 2009 World Champions!!! I know, it still sounds crazy, right! There are days where I have to remind myself that it really did happen. That Garrett Hartley really did make the kick that sent us to the big game! That Tracy Porter really did intercept Peyton Manning's pass and return it for a TD sealing our fate as Superbowl Champions. Holy Cow - it really did happen!!
Tonight, our boys will be reliving all of the amazing moments of this historic season as they are presented with their Superbowl rings. Our fearless leader, Drew Brees said "I'm really, really excited because I've heard from all the people that have been a part of that before, that the ring ceremony is as good of a feeling as winning it the day of the game. Receiving the ring is almost like it sets it in stone. It symbolizes it. Every time you look at it, it reminds you of all those memories."
The rings are soooooo priceless and special, that only the Marines could be trusted to pick them up from Whitney Bank this afternoon to bring them to the private ring ceremony being held in a few hours at the Roosevelt Hotel.
Since my only real chance to see one of these beauties in person is by winning THIS RAFFLE that benefits those affected by the oil spill, I thought I'd turn my attention to some other showstopping rings!
I don't know about you, but if I want to add a little sparkle to an outfit, the first thing I turn to is an oversized cocktail ring. I think they make such a statement! Here are a few that looked like winners to me...
