I know am over a year late to the Twilight party, but better late than never, right? While I have seen, and mostly enjoyed, the three movies, I have only just started reading the books. And Oh My Goodness, I can't get enough. I woke up early this morning, and rather than roll over and go back to sleep, I turned on my Nook and delved into Twilight! I am, for now, on Team Edward. Sure I see the challenges in dating a vampire who will forever be 17, but he's so dreamy.
All of this talk about Team Edward reminded me of these adorable cupcakes made by Amy from Same Sweet Girl. Is it weird to have a Team Edward party for your 30th? (That's purely rhetorical).
And thinking about Amy and my crush on this fictional teenager reminded of a blog award she sweetly passed on to me this summer. The award rules are these: Choose five fictional crushes and blog about them: you can use characters from books, movies, TV shows, etc, etc.
I thought I'd take us back to the good ole days to start... Zach Morris. What I would have done to share a booth with him at The Max. Maybe he would have even let me make a call from his cell phone?
I wanted to be Kelly Kapowski, didn't you? Did you know you can now find her on one of my favorite shows on USA Network, White Collar? Which takes me to fictional crush number two - Neal Caffrey. A bad boy turned good, Neal loves New York City and fedoras: two of my very favorite things.
USA Network has some fantastic shows on right now. One that makes me giggle for an entire hour is Psych. I mean, I find this show laugh out loud funny. So funny, in fact, that crushes three and four are these two guys: Sean Spencer and Burton 'Gus' Guster. Just look at them - who doesn't appreciate a bad sweater party?
Finally, from the most romantic movie ever made, The Notebook, I have to choose Noah Calhoun. He was sweet, charming, hard working, loyal, and a true Southern gentleman. How could he not be on this list?!?!
Who are your fictional crushes?!?!
mmmmm noah calhoun. definitely. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to do this over at my blog!
Did you watch the game last night? Your thoughts?
I just started reading the Twilight books as well... and can't stop! I now carry my Kindle around everywhere determined to sneak some reading in at any spare moment. It'll be nice to get my life back once I finish the books :-)
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I had a crush on Zach Morris too! I also always had a thing for Pacey Witter from Dawson's Creek.
oh, girl.... it IS noah from the notebook.
ReplyDeletei am transformed into my southern girl self 15 years ago, leaving home and THE boy....oh, i just cry and CRY. but i love it.
another southern boy love: matthew machonona-HEY anything, and sweet home alabama boy, Jake! ;-)
wonderful post, btw.
Awww!!!! Thanks for the shout out!!!!!! I was like WHOA! Those are my cupcakes!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteGirl I will SO make you those for your birthday. Hahahaha!! :)
Aren't the books a million times better than the movies?! Okay I only saw the first movie...and I hated it but the books are great. I never like movies if I've read the book first. I can't help it. I was Team Edward at first...I changed to Team Jacob for most of the books...then I changed to Team Neither. LOL
I totally wanted to be Kelly Kapowski!!!! It's so funny to watch the shows now. I still love it!! Did you ever watch the college years??
I copied your post today.. hope you dont mind. But I love dreaming about my fictional males... Noah Calhoun.. AGREED. I am a little sick of Edward Cullen though.. :) jaggedlittlelife.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYour posts always make me smile (and sometimes result in my doing a fist pump as I bellow out a YES!!!!) How much do I love talking about fictional crushes??? And---it comes as no surprise that you and I share 2 of the same crushes (Edward and Noah). However, I would also add to the list- Ben Covington (from Felicity), Mr. Big (from Sex and the City) and Dylan McKay (Beverly Hills, 902190. And Pacey Witter and Jordan Catalano (My So-Called Life) were close runner-ups for me!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove me some Noah and Love me some Notebook. I saw the movie when it first came out but didn't see it again until, ironically, the night my water broke with Michael. I stayed up to watch it and didn't go to bed until 11. Woke at 1:30am when my water broke and that 1.5 hours sleep was all I got that day. Both the movie and day following were wonderful! :) Thanks for making me remember it!
ReplyDeleteHow are you, doll?
ReplyDeleteI do not love Twilight, but I do love Noah Calhoun, Zach Morris...& fedoras on hot guys! LOL
Also loved your post for sweet Bumpkin. It made me tear up, for real. & thank you for the sweet comment on mine. I can't believe I was so emotionally & physically zonked from the week that I didn't do a Pink&Green Thursday post. That may be the first time I've missed it since I started playing along.
Have a great weekend!
Saved By the Bell! That brings back memories!
ReplyDeleteI love Tom from 500 Days of Summer :)
Oh my gosh...Matt Boner from White Collar is so handsome! I got this award from Amy too and I'm going to borrow, okay steal, the graceful way you put the award.
ReplyDeleteAren't her cupcakes so cute...I keep telling her to start a shop!
Oh and I'm late to the Twilight bonanza too, just saw the first movie back in April and have since caught up with the others and am now reading Breaking Dawn! Wasn't sure on the whole Edward phenomenon until I saw the first movie, now I'm sold! He's a cutie!
Happy weekend!
I melted when I saw Noah Calhoun from the Notebook. Couldn't agree more! Another fictional character that I love - Jude Law ("Graham") in The Holiday.
ReplyDeleteI love 'Psych'!! It's so darn funny! sean and gus are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteother fictional character crushes:
1. Dr. Gregory House (well, Hugh Laurie in general, too :D) - 'House' acerbic and ridiculously intelligent. *swoooon*
2. Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy - Pride and Prejudice
3. Han Solo - Star Wars . Cool, macho, AND he's good with a blaster.
4. Edward Cullen - okay, he's 17 - but I can't help myself.
5. Don Draper - 'Mad Men' SIGH. Manliness and elegance personified.
the cupcakes are cute! i can't really think of a fictional crush for me... there are way too many! haha! :D

Hahhaa yay Team Edward, me too! I was also late to the Twilight hysteria but once I started reading the books, I couldn't stop and I read all the books in one weekend - I was hooked and didn't do anything other than read, read, read! I've told my husband he can have Megan Fox bedsheets if I can have Edward :-D hahahaha
