Today was a huge day for me!! I had my first haircut and color in New Orleans. Anyone who has moved knows that there is a certain anxiety related to finding your new stylist. Rather than randomly select a salon near our house or my office, I asked around, and based on a recommendation from a friend, I booked an appointment with Christopher at Coloriage. He was amazing! I had a consultation with him last month and we talked about how I style my hair and what products I use. He spent a half hour with me discussing what my goal hairstyle would be.
This was my inspiration...
I love Julia's cut and color here!!!! It's such a pretty combination of colors. Her hair is warm and has a caramel tone that I think brightens up her face!! And the texture around her face is fabulous.
I think Christopher did an amazing job of bringing this hairdo to life today. He spent so much time making sure that each highlight was well placed. I left feeling fabulous and very excited and relieved! It's hard to see the true tone in this picture, and I didn't have time to have it curled, but in person you can see how well blended the highlights are.
I think next time, I might be brave enough to have Christopher lighten up the front even more!
ohh we may need to see a photo of the new hair! I agree, Julia's hair color is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWell, we need a pic then girlie! I agree so hard to find someone new...great inspiration pic!
ReplyDeleteI want this hair now, too. Good thing I am going this week. :)
ReplyDeleteJulia does look great..gets better with age for sure! I am sure your hair looks wonderful !!
ReplyDeleteWhat a teaser!! Pictures please!
ReplyDeleteYes, we need a pic! :) I am glad it went well. It took me a LONG time to find someone that I like in Minneapolis. I've been going to my girl now for a year and it's such a relief to have someone I know and trust!!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely! And I know exactly the anxiety you're talking about. Though I'm from Virginia, I now live in a different town and it took me three tries(and a really bad cocker-spaniel inspired haircut) before I found the fantastic stylist I now have.
ReplyDeletethis is so weird! i used to get my haircut at coloriage back in 2004 and i am almost positive it was by christopher (it's been a while...). i had a terrible incident where some innocent done-by-a-friend-highlights turned my hair red. he did a great job of sorting me out! i hope you are enjoying being back in nola!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great! I've never had my hair colored or anything but I'm feeling like a little change, especially after seeing how great your hair looks! Julia is a beauty, isn't she!?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! It looks just like Julia's. I like the loose waves, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteI love your hair! It looks so pretty. When I was living in NOLA I never found someone to do my hair. It's always such a tough thing to find when you move. But you lucked out and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteOoh, it looks great! I am glad you found someone! (but Amy might not be!! ;-))
ReplyDeleteHe did a great job my friend...you look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteOooh you look so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! Going in next week for a little change.....and Christy is my inspiration. :)
