Meet Me in St. Louis

Have you seen this movie?  It's one of my absolute favorites!!!  I am excited to yell you that I'll be headed to St. Louis bright and early Saturday morning to visit some great friends.

I love going to places I've never been before!  There's always such amazing things to see and do.  Here are a few of the things on our itinerary...

St. Louis is the Gateway to the West, and I can't imagine a visit there without seeing the Arch!  How beautiful would that be to see everyday?!

We'll explore City Gardens - "an urban oasis in downtown St. Louis."

I'm excited to stop by Busch Stadium too see where the Cardinals play.  I love that you can see the city skyline from the ballpark!

How could I go to St. Louis without seeing those Clydesdales?  We're going to do a Tour of Anheuser Busch Brewery on Sunday.  Fun!!

Have you heard of Ted Drewes frozen custard?  Ted Drewes has been selling frozen custard in St. Louis since 1931.  One of my favorite things about travelling is tasting foods that are city staples, and I cannot wait to try this tasty treat.

Of course, the thing I am most excited about is seeing our friends!  I simply cannot believe we haven't seen the kids in two years.  Time goes by too quickly!  Only a few more days...

Have you been on any fun getaways lately?  Or do you have any trips coming up?

  1. I love Ted Drewes! The best part is they give you your concrete sundae upside down!!! So fun. And watch out if you go up that arch. It sways when you're up there! Scared me to death. And you take these leeeetttle cars up the arch with 4 other people and it's kind of crazy weird. But really cool too! haha
Hope you have a fun trip!!!

  2. I love Meet Me in St. Louis :) I watch it every Christmas, even though it's just barely a Christmas movie! I've never been, but it's definitely on my list of places to visit "someday". In the meantime, I'm looking forward to my trip to Japan on Friday! Have a great time in STL!

  3. I love St Louis -- and grew up loving the Cardinals -- you will LOVE the stadium. We always stayed at the Adams Mark Hotel overlooking the Mississippi and arch.
The history museum is so great underneath the arch...
Be sure to go down by Laclede's landing, along the water for drinks, dinner, music, shopping -- such fun! And the mall at Union Station is a must too -- if you're with kiddos, they'll love the paddle boats there!
    enjoy!

  10. I'm jealous! One of my blogging bff lives in STL! Would love to get down there to visit her but that prob won't happen until the fall or next spring!

Besides weekends at my parents cabin, I don't have any fun get aways. It's hard to get away when I am marathon training since it essentially takes away my social life, for the most part!

    Have a fun trip!!

  14. I love that movie! I've been on an old movie kick, trying to get through all the classics and saw it for the first time a few weeks ago. Never realized that's the movie where Judy Garland met Vincente Minnelli.
